Environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) is a primary focal point for Specialty and Fine Chemical Manufacturers. In a survey conducted by SOCMA, participating members sought resources and templates to assist in navigating the complexities of ESG.
SOCMA created a task force of SOCMA members to monitor regulations and develop tools for companies to develop their ESG framework.

Legislative and Regulatory Updates
The SEC proposed new rules in 2022 pertaining to ESG for registered investment advisers and funds as ESG investing continues to grow. The proposed rule would require publicly owned companies to increase climate risk reporting. The following report looks at the implications for senior executives.
