Thirty-four teams of Specialty Chemical Industry professionals took to the 18-hole course on June 27 at Dunes West Golf & River Club for some friendly competition and industry networking. SOCMA has held this tournament annually to connect the industry and support the next generation of chemical industry professionals by donating to the American Chemical Society’s Scholars Program.
SOCMA members and guests from 10 companies in the Houston and Louisiana region weighed in on the outlook for the specialty chemical industry over the next five years, how they are addressing capacity and labor constraints and future fluctuations, and regulatory and sustainability/EGS topics. These thoughts were shared during a SOCMA Regional Roundtable on June 16, 2022, hosted at Halliburton in Houston, TX.
More than 950 attendees were onsite at the Specialty & Custom Chemicals Show, making the first in-person industry event a resounding success. The Exhibit Hall was active with business-critical conversations, Exhibitor Showcases delivered up-close presentations on company capabilities, and conference sessions delivered timely intel and industry experience. And, each day held networking events full of activity and relationship-building. Check out the photos from the entire #SOCMAShow experience!
The inaugural Cowboys & Chemicals Networking Event brought together both SOCMA members and non-members from across the specialty and fine chemicals supply chain. The event provided a unique opportunity to network, in addition to hosting insightful panels and education sessions.
SOCMA President & CEO Jennifer Abril shared the unique perspective of how global regulations impact the specialty chemical sector in her keynote address on day 2 of the Global Chemical Regulations Conference. More commonly known as GlobalChem, the event attracted more than 300 industry professionals on March 6-8 at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, D.C.
Our inaugural event enabled professionals in the specialties value chain to trade operational best practices and discuss and identify solutions to pain points with colleagues facing the same challenges. In addition to networking opportunities, the event featured educational sessions focusing on issues impacting fine and specialty chemicals industry.
