As SOCMA continues to keep a pulse on the specialty and fine chemical industry, we understand that companies across the industry are grappling with how to encourage employee inoculations now that there’s increased availability of COVID-19 vaccines. Since launching in January, 15 companies across 42 facilities have adopted SOCMA’s Chemical Operations Training Tool to train and refresh employees on standard operations and processes in chemical manufacturing. SOCMA is excited to expand this modernized training tool to non-member manufacturers.
With nearly 100 manufacturer profiles, SOCMA’s newest business tool is a 24/7 platform of chemical manufacturers in the specialty and fine chemicals value chain. Our members capture technologies, innovation, and process solutions that have applications for a diverse range of chemical end uses — from performance materials to pharma and agrochemical applications.
In a letter to the EPA, SOCMA along with partner associations strongly oppose submit comments opposing refined coal tar sealcoat provisions of EPA’s proposed multi-sector general permit for industrial stormwater.
OSHA has issued two revised guidance memos on recordkeeping and enforcement in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 26, 2020, the previous memos from April on these topics will be rescinded, and the new memos will go into and remain in effect until further notice.
