    The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is pleased to announce that more than 20 SOCMA member facilities will receive 2019 Performance Improvement Awards.

    Now in its 13th year, SOCMA continues to honor companies that are leading in the areas of environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S). Following a refreshed judging criteria, 29 facilities have achieved this impressive standard this year and were recognized in front of 250 peers at the inaugural SOCMA Week in New Orleans.

    About the Awards

    The Performance Improvement Awards Program is a recognition program focusing on the five Core Principles in SOCMA’s Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Program-ChemStewards:

    1. Stakeholder Communications
    2. Product Stewardship
    3. Employee Training and Engagement
    4. Resource and Waste Minimization
    5. EHS&S in Planning and Operations

    Award Categories

    Award Applications are based on these Five Core Principles and specifically take into account best practices and principles that demonstrate continuous improvement beyond basic requirements of ChemStewards and government-mandated programs.
