In 2020, the Flexible Vinyl Alliance (FVA) marked a decade as an affiliate of SOCMA. While nothing prepared us for the challenges posed last year, FVA’s relationship with SOCMA allowed the Alliance to remain active and relevant on the federal and state regulatory fronts, as we engaged with agencies inclusive of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the states of California and Maine, as well as the government of Canada, to help defend the utility, safety and intrinsic value of PVC (vinyl) as “the material for life.” In 2021,

FVA will continue its advocacy on behalf of the flexible-PVC industry, to ensure that science, not opinion, prevails in consideration of the safety, sustainability, performance and critical utility of vinyl products used in roofing, flooring, wire/cable, medical devices, food packaging, consumer packaging, automotive interiors, military goods and recreational products.
