SOCMA’s 14th Annual SOCMA Golf Tournament and Dinner is turning out to be one of the best ever, and if you have not yet signed up, I encourage you to do it now! The early bird rate for this popular event ends today, and there is only one foursome and a few single slots remaining!
This year’s tournament and dinner, set for Tuesday, September 4, at the Dunes West Golf & River Club in Mount Pleasant, SC, is just 25 minutes from Charleston. SOCMA strategically co-located the tournament adjacent to the Specialty & Agro Chemicals America show that opens at the Charleston Belmond Place Hotel on September 5. This is a great opportunity to make key business connections and raise money for a worthy cause, the American Chemical Society Scholars Program. Through the Scholars Program you can give back to the industry by assisting underrepresented minority students who are seeking degrees in chemistry or related fields of study. There are also sponsorship opportunities if you would like to support these young people who will be the future of the industry.
This is my first year as coordinator of the SOCMA tournament, and I’m very pleased to report that the outing is succeeding along the same lines as my own event this past May in the Philadelphia area – the Chemspec Events Scholarship Golf Outing.
With the overwhelming response we’ve seen thus far, time is running short to be a part of this year’s tournament, so I encourage you to make your plans today.
