SOCMA Supports Legislation to Reauthorize Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Program

Helminiak released the following statement addressing the significant problems with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed rule on Safer Communities by Chemical Accident Prevention, also know as the Risk Management Program (RMP).
The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) today welcomes the passage of legislation that includes a 3-year reauthorization of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS).
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program began implementation of the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) 2.0 and the enhanced tiering methodology nearly one year ago.
