Exhibitor Showcases:

Finding the right business partner is crucial in today’s fast-paced industry to drive innovation. On the first day of the event, 36 exhibitors showcased their products, services, and company capabilities to bring awareness about their companies and demonstrate how they drive innovation.

General Session 1: Securing the Future: Strategic Investments in Critical Chemicals for National Defense

Dr. Marta Pazos and Dr. Bryson Reynolds from the Department of Defense spoke on US-based chemical manufacturing opportunities through the federal government. They emphasized how small businesses should be procurement-ready to supply the chemicals required by the national defense.

Dr. Pazos highlighted the fact that many of the chemicals needed for national defense are common and should be produced domestically to avoid supply chain weaknesses. She emphasized the importance of having a substantial supply of chemicals to support a strong national defense.

Dr. Reynolds discussed the role of the 650 APEX Accelerators Personnel, who are there to educate and assist small businesses where they are and get to where they want to be in working with the Department of Defense.

Questions about potential projects continued for more than an hour after the presentation ended.

Cutting-Edge Exhibits:

The SOCMA Show floor featured 157 companies in the specialty and custom chemical sector. At one point, there were more than 700 people moving around the show floor. Attendees explored various products and technologies from companies, featuring solutions for future projects.

Networking Opportunities
One of the key strengths of the SOCMA Show is its ability to bring together professionals from various sectors of the specialty chemical industry. The day capped off with a networking reception sponsored by Nation Ford Chemical. Attendees enjoyed culinary delights and bites paired with a cocktail or two. The exchange of conversations throughout the reception continued to set the stage for meaningful partnerships and business networking.

The first day of the SOCMA Show 2024 was a resounding success, setting the stage for an exciting and productive event. Attendees got to explore groundbreaking exhibits, attend an enlightening session from Department of Defense speakers, and network with industry professionals.
