SOCMA Providing Real-Time Intelligence, Resources in Response to COVID-19
Weekly Webinars, Town Halls & Templates Available to Members, Industry

Arlington, VA – As specialty and fine chemical manufacturers continue to stand on the front lines, supplying valuable and life-sustaining products during this unprecedented time, the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is providing valuable intelligence and resources to help its members and industry navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Specialty and fine chemical manufacturers are playing a critical role in the fight against COVID-19,” said Jennifer Abril, SOCMA President & CEO. “In many cases, SOCMA members are experiencing increased demand for essential products. Recognizing that time is of the essence, SOCMA’s approach is to provide tools and templates, quick reference guides, and frequent opportunities for members to connect with each other on the shifting landscape. Through one-on-one calls, we are gathering information, analyzing data and establishing benchmarks so decision-makers can keep a pulse on what’s happening across the industry.”

SOCMA provides real-time information and tangible tools and resources through the following:

COVID-19 Resource Page
Companies can find the latest updates and analysis of relevant legislation, outlines for pandemic plans and templates for essential employee letters, among a host of other materials that are vital to business continuity at www.socma.org/covid-19.

SOCMA hosts Town Hall discussions each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. (ET) to cover topics such as the COVID-19 stimulus package, the Food and Drug Administration’s guidance on hand sanitizer and disinfectant, and to take questions from participants.

SOCMA Webinar Series
To wrap up each week, SOCMA hosts webinars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (ET) on business continuity and supply chain issues. Recent sessions have focused on pandemic-related insurance changes and navigating the legal landscape for employers. Today, SOCMA member Womble Bond Dickinson, (US) LLP will cover key OSHA compliance themes related to COVID-19 in the workplace. Register for the webinar here.

“SOCMA resources are open and available to all companies across the specialty chemicals supply chain,” Abril said. “Members and non-members alike are welcome to utilize our tools and lean on our staff throughout this crisis.”
